Known for its aesthetically pleasing appeal, the Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercar will no doubt turn heads at the 2026 24h Le Mans race in the next couple of days, while the team’s decision makers will hope to bring the best out of their V12 powerhouse.

Led by Roman De Angelis, Alex Riberas and Marco Sorensen, Aston Martin could only manage a highest of 12th place at Le Mans last year, with the (009) RA 6.5L V12 engine ending the race at 383.

Their 007 car came in at 14th position in 2025, ending on 381 laps with Tom Gamble, Ross Gunn and Harry Ticknell at the wheel.

Speaking on their chances of competing for a lofty place at the 2026 Le Mans, Aston Martin CEO Adrian Hallmark placed full trust in their eye-catching Valkyrie car.

Hallmark thus believes that Aston Martin’s ‘uncompromising’ approach will place the Valkyrie in suitable conditions to perform.

“More than a year into Aston Martin's hypercar endurance racing programme, we can say with certainty that Valkyrie has begun to realise its potential and is continuing to gain competitive impetus in the WEC,” Hallmark said.

“Le Mans is perhaps the most important standalone race in global motorsport, and we are of course fiercely proud to carry British hopes of glory into this year's 94th running of this prestigious event.

“Valkyrie wholly represents Aston Martin's uncompromising approach to performance engineering, and the racing interpretation carries with it the very spirit of our founding principles. You could say that Le Mans is Valkyrie's perfect natural habitat.”
