2026 Michelin Grand Prix of France or French MotoGP
Round 5
Bugatti Circuit
Le Mans, France
Sunday, 10 May 2026
The 2026 French MotoGP is set to take place in Le Mans, which is a city in northwestern France, on 10 May as Johann Zarco looks to retain his title.
What to know about the French MotoGP
This event has been held at the Bugatti Circuit (part of the legendary Le Mans complex) since 2000.
Built in 1965 around the 24 Hours of Le Mans layout, the 4.185 km track features a mix of high-speed straights and technical corners, making it a favourite for riders and fans alike.
Most recent race
The Spanish MotoGP (Round 4 at Jerez) took place on 26 April 2026.
Alex Marquez of Gresini Ducati took a commanding victory, with Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia) finishing second and others battling closely behind.
Standings
Marco Bezzecchi leads the 2026 MotoGP riders' standings with strong consistency for Aprilia.
Aprilia's Jorge Martin sits close behind in second, followed by Fabio Di Giannantonio of Ducati and KTM's Pedro Acosta.
In the constructors' standings, Aprilia has shown impressive form early in the season, challenging Ducati's usual dominance, with KTM placed third.
Favourites
With the season still young, all eyes will be on championship leader Marco Bezzecchi, Jorge Martin, and French riders like Fabio Quartararo, and Zarco.
Home advantage and massive local support could benefit French riders, but Marc Marquez, Martin, Di Giannantonio and Acosta will also fancy their chances.
Quotes
“Seeing the fans back at Le Mans after the wonderful memories of last year [his 2025 victory] will be fantastic.[ It will] certainly be a fantastic weekend, regardless of the outcome," Honda's Zarco, the reigning French MotoGP champion, said.
“The goal is to still dream about victories... I got a magic victory last year [at Le Mans], which with the Honda project I did not expect... Now, with many years of experience, I know that the dream is to fight for the world title but I don’t know if it’s doable, so try to catch opportunities of podiums.”
