Premier League
Matchday 9
Liverpool vs Arsenal
Anfield
Liverpool, England
Sunday, 1 November 2026
Kick-off is at 18:30
As arguably the key fixture in the Premier League this coming weekend, Liverpool will look to close the gap on reigning champions Arsenal when the two sides clash at Anfield on Sunday.
The London side managed to go level on points with table toppers Manchester City during matchday eight following their 2-0 win over Everton while City suffered a 2-1 away defeat against Aston Villa.
As it stands, Arsenal are in second position with the top two noting 21 points from their first eight league assignments.
Arsenal’s win against Everton extended their winning streak to three matches after they made amends for their 3-0 loss to Brighton on 19 September. Liverpool on the other hand will go into their next league game sitting in fourth place after noting 15 points for the season.
Liverpool are now on a two-match winning streak following their 2-0 victory over Brighton at home, a result that came after a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Brentford during matchday seven.

Speaking after Arsenal’s win over the Toffees, Mikel Arteta spoke fondly of his side getting back among set-piece goals, a crucial element to the Gunners’ attacking department.
Arteta thus claimed that scoring from set-pieces once more could strike belief in his players as they look to secure their second-consecutive Premier League crown.
"I'm sure that's going to unlock something and that belief of the players," manager Arteta said. "So they are really convinced.
"You have to see them when we train the level of attention and how much they believe in what we do and what Nico [Jover, set-piece coach] does as well.
"There's no question about that, but at the end he has to come through and he has to make the difference and we know that that is a massive welcome for us."
